"Our History"
Rev. Dr. Janice M. Cooper, is Founder and Chief Overseer of the "Christ Is In Your Crisis Ministry, Inc." A creative, innovative, steadfast mobile ministry empowering people since 1992.
Dr. Cooper has been a regular resource to the Church by way of Christian television (TBN), newspapers and radio ministries. By bringing her own experiences of crisis situations to the people, the ministry has helped countless people. She is an Alabama native and a daughter of the Methodist Parsonage. The ministry began in her local Church in Montgomery, Alabama. She is a minister with a message for the wounded in spirit. She is dedicated to taking the Gospel to those in need. Further, she walks in the liberty of Jesus Christ. She received her Deacon and Elders Orders in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion denomination. She is a thirty-year vessel in deliverance ministry, and a professional Chaplain. She completed her residency of Clinical Pastoral Education at Carolina Healthcare System. She is BC eligible and has earned degrees in Divinity and Theology, receiving her Doctor of Theology 2017. She was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity for thirty years of meritorious recognition for outstanding works in ecumenical and community service in 2014. Also, she continues to be on the fore front of social justice issues. She administered the oath of office to the Cleveland County Executive Board of the NAACP in 2018. She is the newly appointed member to the president's advisory council for Hood Theological Seminary 2019. President Dr. Vergel Lattimore. As a 501(c) (3) Charitable/Religious Organization, CIIYCM is approved to: advance religion, build and maintain buildings, help the oppressed, care for the elderly, aid in community building, advance the teaching of ministers for public worship, aid and assist the government for the betterment of youth and society. The Method of Christ is our mission and focus!
1992 - The ministry began as Christ Is Drug Ministry- a weekly support meeting for those addicted to drugs as well as support for their families, and ministered in the prison system at Draper, Staton and Tutwiler facilities.
1993 - In January - the first Drug Education course was taught, helping many in the surrounding counties in Alabama. Prison Ministry continued.
1994 - First graduation of the students from the Drug Education course. Also, began hosting television interviews for Trinity Broad-Cast Network. Prison Ministry continued.
1995 - Continued teaching, traveling and conducting Drug Education Seminars.
1996 - Became a bridge ministry to pastors and leaders on drug awareness and small groups. Continued traveling, hosting seminars, and conducting drug education courses.
1997 - As the needs of the community grew, the ministry's name was changed to Christ Is In Your Crisis Ministry, Inc
- Articles and Bylaws were established to do business in the State Of Alabama; making the ministry a legal entity. Began hosting Conferences throughout Alabama on crisis issues.
1998 - The first Publication of the ministry "CIIYCM Newsline" was published
1999-2001 - The Empowerment for God's Purpose course began, different denominations and pastors participated with much support.
- This course enrolled over 20 students of various leadership positions. Courses were taught in five cities in two states.
In April, the ministry received its 501(c) (3) status, thrusting the ministry into another area of helping the Body of Christ. All contributions/donations are tax deductible.
2002 - 2003- Empowerment Courses continued, conferences were held throughout Alabama and other states.
- Due to the expansion of the ministry, other ministers joined the team and began opening their churches for conferences. Mentoring Matters program implemented
2004 - 2005- The first students of the Empowerment Course completed the requirements and graduated
2006 - Further expansion of the ministry took place. The ministry ventured out of state, relocating its main office to Raleigh, N.C. with an executive branch in Mobile AL.
2007 - Since its inception, the ministry has served hundreds of individuals, pastors, leaders and families and is committed to the vision of deliverance and the Word of the Lord.
2008 -2009 Granted a certificate of authority to do ministry in North Carolina from The Secretary Of State. First national conference was held in Raleigh, NC
2010 - Became a Publishing Company allowing us to serve the Body of Christ and beyond in publishing materials. Our President was the first author to publish a book. "Come Inside Discovering Your Purpose." Book Signings, and lectures about self investigation of purpose.
2011-2018- Book Signings for 1st and 2nd editions, and Lectures about the significance of self. Moreover, the book is being used for Church Bible studies and small group settings for pastors and leaders with great response. Our mission of giving continues to be a tremendous blessing to the recipients and their families.
2019-2020 "Mastering the Mentoring in You" courses, first one was held in Shelby, NC. August 2019. An expansion of our Mentoring Matters empowerment resource. Our supportive giving continues to be a blessing to other ministries, families, ministers and other 501(c) (3) nonprofit charitable organizations. First graduates of the eight weeks mentoring course. (2020)
2020-2021- Happy New Year to all. Thank you for your continuous support and prayers! We are continuing the mission to serve this present age through teaching sound doctrine, meeting physical needs, and preparing people for the promises of God.

Always In Our Hearts!!!
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; (Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2). Words cannot express how much love my family and I received in the passing of our mother- Mrs. Henrietta Fields Cooper, the "wind beneath my wings." Hence, we continue to honor the memory of our patriarch, Rev. William B. Cooper. and our matriarch. They gave value and meaning to our lives. Moreover, the legacy that they left to their children from Oak Street apartments has been spread abroad. I would be nothing without my siblings. They made me look deep inside of me in my formative years. I will forever include them in all of my endeavors. Another lesson learned from them.
Hence, because of the strong influence of our parents, we are keepers of the gate to many.
They loved the work and the purpose of God's Mission in the Christ Is In Your Crisis Ministry, Inc. Which they saw in me long before it was made manifest. This ministry is dedicated to the memory of the man and woman, husband and wife, father and mother; grandfather and grandmother, pastor and missionary, and our graceful examples of fortitude. Our parents and their great legacy is alive in us!!!
